  1. Preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C) and place a pizza stone or inverted baking sheet inside for about 30 minutes. Dust a surface with flour or cornmeal and roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch round.
  2. Transfer the rolled dough to a floured pizza peel or the back of a baking sheet. Spread tomato sauce on the dough, leaving a ½-inch border. Sprinkle mozzarella, layer pepperoni slices, and dollop ricotta on top.
  3. Carefully slide the assembled pizza onto the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 8–12 minutes until the cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.
  4. Remove the pizza and let it cool for a minute. Drizzle hot honey generously over the pizza, garnish with basil leaves and optional red pepper flakes, then slice and serve.
