Step-by-Step Instructions for Quick Refrigerator Pickles
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1 cup of apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of salt. Heat over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring until the sugar and salt fully dissolve.
- Once the sugar and salt have dissolved, remove from heat and allow the brine to cool for approximately 10 minutes.
- While the brine is cooling, wash and slice the cucumbers into uniform rounds or spears. Layer them in a clean jar along with the garlic cloves.
- Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon of mustard seeds and 1 tablespoon of dill seeds between the layers of cucumbers. Add crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
- Once the brine has cooled adequately, carefully pour it over the layered cucumbers, ensuring they are fully submerged.
- Seal the jar tightly with its lid and place in the refrigerator. Allow them to marinate for at least 24 hours for the best flavor.
- After 24 hours, your Quick Refrigerator Pickles will be ready to enjoy!
