Ingredients

For the Shrimp
  • 1 pound uncooked extra-large shrimp (26-30/lb. size) thawed & peeled; deveined if preferred
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Butter divided; provides richness; can be reduced for health-conscious cooks
  • 6 cloves Garlic minced; fresh is preferred for best results
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional; offers slight heat; can be omitted for a milder dish
  • 1/4 cup Dry White Wine or substitute chicken broth; enhances flavor depth
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice fresh-squeezed is best for acidity and brightness
For Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped Fresh Parsley for garnish and freshness; can substitute with dried parsley
  • Salt & Pepper to taste for seasoning

Equipment

  • Large Skillet

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Thaw and Prepare Shrimp. Place shrimp under cool running water for about 10 minutes. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Melt Butter in Skillet. Melt 1/4 cup of butter over medium heat, ensuring it does not brown.
  3. Cook the Shrimp. Add shrimp into the skillet, cooking for 1 minute on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Introduce Garlic and Spices. Stir in minced garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in Wine. Add 1/4 cup of dry white wine to the skillet, letting it simmer for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Finish the Sauce. Lower the heat, stir in remaining butter, lemon juice, and parsley. Cook until glossy.
  7. Season and Serve. Taste and season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately, either alone or over cooked pasta.

Notes

Having all your ingredients ready before cooking ensures nothing burns. Shrimp cooks fast; they should be tender and pink. Choose quality dry white wine for best flavor results.
