Ingredients

For the Base
  • 1 tube Crescent Roll Dough Provides a flaky, crunchy base; if using rolls, press seams together to form a sheet.
For the Topping
  • 6 slices Bacon Adds a savory, salty element; thicker slices give better texture.
  • 1/2 cup Maple Syrup Always opt for pure maple syrup for the best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Enhances sweetness and aids in caramelization; substitute with coconut sugar for a less refined alternative.

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Baking Pan
  • Oven

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Maple Bacon Snap
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until browned and slightly crispy but still chewy, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat, leaving a thin layer in the pan. Crumble the bacon into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a greased baking pan and stretch it to cover the bottom of the pan evenly.
  3. Drizzle half of the maple syrup over the prepared dough, top with half the brown sugar, and sprinkle crumbled bacon pieces. Repeat with remaining syrup and sugar.
  4. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbling. Check for a golden flaky crust.
  5. Remove from oven and cool for about 5 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
