Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 cup green onions chopped
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup bell peppers sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • Cooked rice for serving

Method

  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Pour this mixture over the cooked beef and stir well to combine.
  4. Add the broccoli and bell peppers to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. Stir in the chopped green onions and cook for another minute.
  6. Serve the Korean beef stir-fry over cooked rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
