Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 ½ cups of warm water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 2 ¼ teaspoons of instant yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy. Gradually add 4 cups of all-purpose flour and 2 teaspoons of salt, knead until smooth and elastic.
  2. Coat dough with 3 tablespoons of olive oil, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled.
  3. Heat ⅓ cup of olive oil in a saucepan, add minced garlic, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Set aside to cool.
  4. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan, transfer and stretch the dough to fit. Allow to rise for 30-45 minutes until puffed.
  5. Preheat oven to 425°F, dimple the dough, brush with garlic oil, sprinkle with Parmesan and optional herbs, and flaky sea salt.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
