Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with olive oil or butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef or chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and salt. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Make 20-24 meatballs and place them on a platter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the meatballs for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, water, and minced garlic. Stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.
  6. Spread uncooked white rice in the bottom of the greased baking dish. Sprinkle diced bell peppers and frozen peas over the rice. Drizzle with olive oil.
  7. Pour chicken or vegetable broth over the rice and vegetables, stirring lightly to combine.
  8. Nestle the browned meatballs on top of the rice and vegetables, evenly spaced.
  9. Drizzle the honey garlic glaze over the whole dish.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, until rice is tender and top is browned.
  11. Let the dish rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions.
