  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 cup Optional Mix-ins Chopped roasted red peppers, scallions, or crumbled bacon
For the Coating and Decoration
  • 1 cup Coating Crushed cheese puffs or shredded cheddar
  • 1 piece Stem Decoration Bell pepper stem, pretzel stick, or broccoli stalk

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar, chopped fresh chives, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Gently fold in any optional mix-ins such as chopped roasted red peppers or crumbled bacon, mixing thoroughly to maintain a soft texture.
  3. Scoop the cheese mixture onto the center of plastic wrap and mold it into a ball shape. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
  4. Once firm, reshape the ball into a pumpkin-like form, wrap it again in plastic wrap, and tie it with kitchen twine. Chill for another hour.
  5. Insert a stem decoration into the top of the cheese ball.
  6. Roll the cheese ball in crushed cheese puffs or shredded cheddar until evenly coated.
  7. Optional: Garnish with fresh parsley or sage leaves and serve alongside crackers, fresh vegetables, or breadsticks.
