- Start by popping your quinoa. Heat a pan over medium-high heat, adding a couple of tablespoons of quinoa, and cover it with a snug lid. Listen for the popping sounds—this should take about 3-5 minutes. Once the popping has slowed down and the quinoa has expanded into crunchy little puffs, remove it from the heat and set aside to cool.
- Next, melt your dark chocolate to achieve that delicious, smooth texture. Chop the chocolate into small pieces and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each, until the chocolate is completely melted and glossy—this will take about 1-2 minutes in total.
- Now it’s time to combine the ingredients for your Dark Chocolate Quinoa Crisps. Take the cooled, popped quinoa and gently fold it into the melted chocolate. Add a pinch of flaky sea salt and stir until every piece of quinoa is well-coated.
- Prepare to set your crisps by pouring the chocolate-quinoa mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread it evenly into a thin layer, about ¼ inch thick.
- Finally, place your baking sheet in the freezer for about 20-30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm to the touch.
