Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup green onions finely chopped
  • 4 slices white bread
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 egg beaten
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Method

  1. In a food processor, combine the shrimp, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and green onions. Pulse until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  2. Spread an even layer of the shrimp mixture over each slice of bread, covering the entire surface.
  3. Dip each slice, shrimp side down, into the beaten egg, then press into the sesame seeds to coat the shrimp mixture evenly.
  4. In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the coated bread slices, shrimp side down, into the oil.
  5. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  6. Cut each slice into quarters and serve warm.
