Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by slicing the small onion into thin strips and set aside.
- Preheat your pan over medium heat while you prepare other ingredients.
- In the preheated pan, add a tablespoon of olive oil and toss in the sliced onions. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, ground cumin, and other spices. Add them to the pan with the sautéed onions. Cook for 5-7 minutes until golden.
- Remove from heat and let the chicken cool slightly before shredding into bite-sized pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with the sautéed onions and remaining spices. Mix well.
- On a clean surface, lay out the flour tortillas. Spoon an even amount of chicken mixture onto each tortilla, sprinkle cheese, and roll them up tightly.
- Heat more olive oil in the same pan. Once hot, carefully place flautas seam-side down and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Serve warm topped with sour cream, pico de gallo, or guacamole.

Notes
Avoid overcrowding the pan when frying to ensure crispy flautas; use quality tortillas for better texture.
