Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen hash browns thawed
  • 1 cup cooked breakfast sausage crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, onion, bell pepper, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Once the oil is hot, add the hash brown mixture to the skillet, spreading it evenly. Press down gently with a spatula to form a compact layer.
  4. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.
  5. Carefully flip the hash browns using a large plate or spatula, and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes on the other side until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Once cooked, remove from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into wedges.
