Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 bag 32 ounces frozen tater tots
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1/2 cup pickles chopped (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and cream of mushroom soup. Mix until well combined.
  5. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  6. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the beef mixture.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together ketchup and mustard, then drizzle over the tater tots.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  9. If desired, sprinkle chopped pickles on top before serving.
