Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 ripe avocado mashed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • Lettuce leaves for serving
  • Tomato slices for serving
  • Sliced red onion for serving

Method
 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, mashed avocado, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, cilantro, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  4. While the patties are cooking, toast the whole wheat burger buns in a toaster or on a separate skillet until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a chicken patty, tomato slices, and red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
