Super Tender Sesame Donuts that melt in your mouth, perfect for a sweet treat.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds (plus extra for topping)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the sesame seeds.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.
- Use a donut cutter or two round cutters to cut out donuts and holes.
- Carefully place the donuts in the hot oil, frying a few at a time for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- While still warm, sprinkle with additional sesame seeds.
- Let the donuts cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can bake the donuts at 350°F for 15-18 minutes instead of frying.
- For added flavor, consider dipping the cooled donuts in a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
