Description

A simple and delicious recipe for Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes that is perfect for a quick meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.

  3. Transfer the beef and vegetable mixture to a slow cooker.
  4. Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once cooked, serve the sloppy joe mixture on hamburger buns.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a teaspoon of hot sauce or diced jalapeños to the mixture.
  • To make it a bit healthier, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
