- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup
- 1 packet (1 ounce) ranch seasoning mix
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, and ranch seasoning.
- Pour the mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Once the chicken is done, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth.
- Stir this mixture into the gravy in the slow cooker and cook on high for an additional 15-20 minutes until the gravy thickens.
- Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
- Serve the chicken and gravy over rice, mashed potatoes, or egg noodles.
Notes
- For a creamier gravy, add 1/2 cup of sour cream or cream cheese during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- To make it a one-pot meal, add chopped vegetables like carrots and potatoes to the slow cooker with the chicken.
