Description

Potsticker Soup is a cozy and comforting dish that combines flavorful broth with tender potstickers and fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 package (12 ounces) frozen potstickers
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and water, then add the soy sauce and sesame oil. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  4. Carefully add the frozen potstickers to the pot. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until the potstickers are heated through.
  5. Stir in the baby spinach and cook for another 1-2 minutes until wilted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Ladle the soup into bowls, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes or a splash of hot sauce to the broth.
  • You can also substitute the potstickers with homemade dumplings or wontons for a fresh twist.
