A fun and festive recipe for Patriotic Rice Krispie Treats, perfect for summer celebrations.

- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup red candy melts
- 1 cup blue candy melts
- 1/4 cup white sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the Rice Krispies cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture and stir until well combined.
- Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter. Press the Rice Krispie mixture evenly into the dish using a spatula or your hands.
- In separate microwave-safe bowls, melt the red and blue candy melts according to package instructions, stirring until smooth.
- Drizzle the melted red candy over the Rice Krispie treats, followed by the blue candy. Use a toothpick or knife to swirl the colors together for a marbled effect.
- If desired, sprinkle white sprinkles over the top for added decoration.
- Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a fun twist, add in 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips or M&M’s to the Rice Krispie mixture before pressing it into the dish.
- Substitute the candy melts with colored chocolate or frosting for different flavors and decorations.
