Description

A quick and tasty recipe for Lazy Chicken Parmesan Grilled Cheese, combining the flavors of chicken parmesan with the comfort of grilled cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of sourdough bread
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken with marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place one slice of sourdough bread in the skillet. Top with half of the mozzarella cheese.
  4. Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the cheese.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top of the chicken.
  6. Place the second slice of sourdough bread on top and press down gently.
  7. Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until the bottom slice is golden brown.
  8. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
  9. Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add crushed red pepper flakes to the chicken mixture.
