Description

A delicious and crunchy recipe for Honey BBQ Chicken Strips that are perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1 cup honey BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs until well combined.
  3. Place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow bowl.
  4. Dip each chicken strip first into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Ensure each strip is well covered.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken strips in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches).
  6. Cook the chicken strips for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove the chicken strips from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. In a large bowl, toss the cooked chicken strips with the honey BBQ sauce until evenly coated.
  9. Serve immediately, or keep warm in a low oven until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, bake the chicken strips at 400°F for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, instead of frying.
  • Experiment with different sauces, such as buffalo or teriyaki, for a unique flavor twist.
