Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 8 ounces linguine or spaghetti, cooked according to package instructions

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Season the shrimp with salt and black pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  4. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Pour the white wine (or chicken broth) and lemon juice into the skillet, scraping up any bits from the bottom. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Return the shrimp to the skillet, add the cooked pasta, and toss to combine.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a creamier sauce, stir in 1/4 cup heavy cream after adding the wine.
  • To add more vegetables, toss in some spinach or cherry tomatoes during the last minute of cooking.
