- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 8 ounces linguine or spaghetti, cooked according to package instructions
Instructions
- Melt the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Season the shrimp with salt and black pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
- Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Pour the white wine (or chicken broth) and lemon juice into the skillet, scraping up any bits from the bottom. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet, add the cooked pasta, and toss to combine.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a creamier sauce, stir in 1/4 cup heavy cream after adding the wine.
- To add more vegetables, toss in some spinach or cherry tomatoes during the last minute of cooking.
