Description
Crispy Sesame Prawn Toast is a quick and delicious appetizer featuring a flavorful shrimp mixture spread on bread and coated with sesame seeds, then fried until golden brown.

- 1 cup raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 4 slices white bread
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 1 egg, beaten
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the shrimp, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and green onions. Pulse until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Spread an even layer of the shrimp mixture over each slice of bread, covering the entire surface.
- Dip each slice, shrimp side down, into the beaten egg, then press into the sesame seeds to coat the shrimp mixture evenly.
- In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the coated bread slices, shrimp side down, into the oil.
- Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
- Cut each slice into quarters and serve warm.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of sriracha or chili paste to the shrimp mixture.
- Substitute the shrimp with finely chopped chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
