Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin on
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets, skin-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
- Carefully flip the salmon fillets and pour the honey garlic sauce over them. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, basting the salmon with the sauce until it is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the salmon rest for a minute. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For an extra layer of flavor, marinate the salmon in the honey garlic mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Serve the salmon over a bed of steamed rice or quinoa for a complete meal. Add steamed broccoli or asparagus for a nutritious side.
