Ingredients

  • 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin on
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets, skin-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  3. Carefully flip the salmon fillets and pour the honey garlic sauce over them. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, basting the salmon with the sauce until it is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and let the salmon rest for a minute. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
