Description

Creamy and delicious mashed potatoes made effortlessly in a crockpot.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the peeled and chopped potatoes in the slow cooker. Pour the chicken broth over the potatoes.
  2. Add the heavy cream, butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the potatoes are tender.
  4. Once cooked, use a potato masher or an electric mixer to mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Serve warm, garnished with chopped chives or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute half of the heavy cream with low-fat milk.
  • For a flavor twist, add 1/2 cup of shredded cheese (like cheddar or Parmesan) during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
