- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Mix until well combined.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through and golden brown.
- While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Once the meatballs are done, add them to the sauce and let them simmer for 5 minutes.
- Serve the meatballs topped with shredded mozzarella cheese. If desired, place them under the broiler for 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese until bubbly and golden.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding a teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture for a spicy kick.
- You can substitute ground turkey for the ground chicken for a leaner option.
- Serve the meatballs over spaghetti or zucchini noodles for a complete meal.
