Description
Caramelized Pulled Beef Brisket is a flavorful and tender dish that will amaze your taste buds with its rich flavors and melt-in-your-mouth texture.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 pounds beef brisket
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F.
- In a large bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this spice mixture all over the brisket.
- Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the brisket for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove the brisket and set aside.
- In the same pot, add the sliced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
- Pour in the beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Stir to combine, then return the brisket to the pot.
- Cover the pot with a lid and transfer it to the preheated oven. Cook for 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Once cooked, remove the brisket from the pot and let it rest for 15 minutes. Use two forks to shred the meat.
- Return the shredded beef to the pot and stir it into the sauce. Let it simmer on low for 10-15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider marinating the brisket overnight with the spice rub.
- You can also serve the pulled beef on toasted buns for a delicious sandwich option.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the spice mix.
