Description

A flavorful and spicy shrimp dish with a citrusy orange sauce that is perfect for a quick meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Cooked rice or quinoa, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Pour the orange sauce over the shrimp and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the sliced green onions.
  6. Serve the spicy orange shrimp over cooked rice or quinoa.

Notes

  • For a milder version, reduce the amount of red pepper flakes or omit them entirely.
  • Add vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas during the cooking process for extra color and nutrition.
